|
| Under the current definition of NEW, taken from
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102
Parts that are scratched during storage, are factory seconds, brittle, yellowed
etc can be listed as NEW with no qualifications, as long as they came out of
a sealed set.
In an extreme example, I could run over a set with my car and list the parts
as NEW, even though a significant portion of the pieces would be damaged.
My suggestion is simple.
Add the same requirement for disclosure to NEW parts as applies to USED parts
if there is damage.
You can actually just copy and paste the exact text from USED Parts, "If
the parts show excessive wear, discoloration, excessive scratches, other marks,
etc, this should be noted in the item description. "

For BrickLink you really need to memorize the exact names.
Why cannot BrickLink use the same search algorithm as Studio, just searching
for any words or word parts anywhere in the result? Or at least offer this type
of search as optional alternative if you fear people will get too many results
this way.

because they are not "1x3 or 2x3 or 3x3 plates" they are 1 x 3 or 2 x
3 or 3 x 3 plates

Not sure to understand.
In any shop type "1x3" (without quotation marks) and you'll find
1 x 3 Plates, Bricks, etc (assuming they're in stock).
Same while searching All Items on top center.

If this suggestion gets a better search - we would all benefit!

You can use asterisks in your search, as in tec* pla*.

I would like to be able to separately specify the amout of needed parts
as well as the amount of optional wanted parts to purchase on a "Wanted
List".
|
In the meantime, you can sort-of do that with multiple Wanted Lists and the Buy
page:
— have WLs for “needed” items and WLs for “optional” ones,
— you can search for multiple WLs on the Buy page (checkboxes on the left),
— you can also make some lots required by using the “Wanted Items” tab on the
left and clicking the small lock on the lots (it only works for the entire lot,
hence the need for multiple WLs to have separate the quantities).
And then you “play” with the parameters (which lists are selected, whether you
“require” some items or not…) in the Buy page and Auto-select.
And then, once you have a small number of stores, you make your carts by using
the “Wanted List” link in the Shop tab.
You need to do it mostly manually but those features help….

| Hi BrickLink team,
I would like to be able to separately specify the amout of needed parts
as well as the amount of optional wanted parts to purchase on a "Wanted
List".
The rationale behind this is as following:
I need a certain number of parts for building a model, but often I'd like
to order a few extra parts anyway as long as they don't make the order
more complicated or require more shop orders to be opened.
Essentially the logic for creating the orders would be:
- First, only consider the mandatory parts (as it is currently), create the shopping
carts based on lowest price (including shipping costs) and the limitations specified
by the user.
- However, if a shop has an unmet order minimum, do not discard the shop if this
minimum can be reached including some optional parts.
- Then check each selected shop if any of them can provide the remaining optional
parts and add them to the already existing orders for those shop(s) which offers
the lowest price for each part.
- In other words: Ignore any optional parts that would cause (a) another order
to be created or would require me to buy another unfinished batch of parts (in
case a shop sells the part only in batches of 10, 100 etc.).
- In the end, ideally provide a statistics which mandatory vs. optional parts
could be included vs. are still open from the Wanted List.
Thank you.

I'm guessing you don't use Brickstore? You really should give it a go.
Manipulating stock lists and set inventories is exactly what it was made for.
Downloading a set inventory and then sorting it by category would take about
5sec.

And the ability to import your wanted lists, orders (I find this very handy since
bricklink purges them after 6 months) and much more

Alternatively you can download brickstore and you will have way more options
to sort.
Brickstore uses the bricklink database so the parts lists for sets will be the
same.

Hi
I have been trying to do this for a few years now. Best I can figure is to sort
by Item name. It wont put Technic together but it will put all the axles together.
I have had the issue where it says it is sorted by Item but shows colour sorting
instead. I just load by Item a second time (hit GO) and it seems to work.

| Maby a different approach is effective:
If a user is below 1 month old, has zero feedback;
Let their forum post only be visable for moderators and or admins.
That way spam gets filtered for the rest of the users.
When need be a genuine question can be "released" for everyone.
This is no long term solution i believe.
But when the settings for it are done the workload should be around the same
but with less to no visable spam.

| Currently the REST API (https://www.bricklink.com/v3/api.page) does not support
the cross-site access (CORS or JSONP). That makes it impossible to access the
API from a React app for example and requires a server-side component.
Could you enable the cross-site access by either adding the "Access-Control-Allow-Origin:
*" response header to the API (relatively easy change) or adding JSONP support
(a bit harder and it's an older method for cross-site JS API).
